The UGC-Academic Staff College was established in the year 1987 with cent percent financial assistance from the University Grants Commission. Recently, i.e. in the XII plan guidelines the Academic Staff College has renamed as Human Resource Development Centre.
It has been conducted 110 Orientation programmes for the benefit of nearly 3,8 00 Higher Education teachers since 1987. And 7900 teachers were benefited by 271 Refresher Courses conducted by our Human Resource Development Centre in various branches such as Science, Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce, Languages, etc., 14,000 Teachers of College and University were trained by our Human Resource Development Centre.
The UGC-Human Resource Development Centre also conducted a 28 days Orientation Course for about 250 newly recruited Government College Teachers of Tamilnadu, during Jan 2008 sponsored by the TANSCHE.
